General Questions

Q. Are shipping charges included in your pricing?

All orders over $50 have free shipping! All other shipping prices are calculated at the end of your order.

Premier clients with Account on Hand status will have the option to order throughout the business day (9-5 MST) and if the total is $50 or above, will receive free shipping.

Shipping labels to send frames to SmartOD.com are available upon request.

Q: How do I receive a warranty replacement?

We are happy to replace any defective or broken frames, we have a No Questions Asked/Time Unlimited return policy—as long as the frame is in stock. All we ask is that you return the frame to us with your name and account number. We will credit your account immediately upon receipt.

Q: How are your payments processed?

In order to keep our prices low, we offer two ways of payment:

  • Pre-pay per order using our secure payment processing provider
  • Request authorization for SmartOD.com to keep your up-to-date credit card on file to be charged monthly; we will then give you the option to select Account On Hand during checkout

To retain your Account on Hand status, your card must be current and able to be processed. Your Account on Hand status may be revoked at any time for any reason.

 

Questions About Frames

Q: Do you have minimum purchase requirements?

We have no minimums required! Order as many frames and lenses as you'd like, as often as you'd like.

Q: How are you able to offer such discounts on your frames?

SmartOD.com is able to offer such low prices by consolidating the purchases of a large number of independent O.D.s, while eliminating overhead expenses such as rep commissions, rep travel expenses, rep samples, finance expenses, POP, and overstocking. We do this by offering our products online, B2B.

The success of SmartOD.com is dependent on having a large number of participating members. With this large number of members we are able to approach factories directly to negotiate lower prices and expand the variety of products we offer.

Q: How do I know that your frames are really top quality?

Don't be deceived by our low prices. For the past several years, we've sold our frames for $48 to $68 per frame. But we also offer the following guarantee. If, after receiving your shipment, you are not satisfied with the frames' quality, simply return them to SmartOD. You will receive a full refund and be removed from our member list.

Q: Can I return some of the frames I've selected?

Yes, we want you to be happy will all of the frames you've selected. When the package arrives you have 10 days to inspect the frames and return any that do not fit your board. Simply call us to request a return shipping label.  The return shipping is on us and you will receive full credit for all frames returned.

Q: I do not see a frame on your website. Is it still available?

We do our best to keep our inventory current on our website. If you do not see a frame currently posted, we have determined that this frame is too low in inventory to be displayed for purchase. If you have a need for a warranty replacement, please feel free to call or e-mail to see if we are able to replace the frame.

Q: What frames are available for your Medicaid/Value Packages?

All frames listed under our Thrifty Frames are included in the price of our Medicaid/Value Packages.

Q: What if I cannot sell the frames?

The best solution to this problem is to offer your opticians a spiff (bonus) for selling SmartOD frames. The spiff can be as simple as $5 (or anything you choose) per frame sold. Of course you can always offer special discounts to your customers, such as "buy 1, get the second pair at 50% off." This offer can dramatically increase your overall profit as well as the number of frames sold.

Q: Do you carry parts for your frames?

We have a limited amount of frames that we offer parts for, but we will be happy to send you a new frame in exchange!

Q: How can I place lens orders with your lab?

Q: How long do I have to be a member of SmartOD?

You may cancel your membership any time.

Q: What about warranties, returns, and exchanges?

SmartOD frames carry the standard factory warranty. If a frame is defective, simply return it for a free replacement. You may also exchange up to 10% of your past purchases for any reason.

Q: Do you plan to offer future products at factory-direct prices?

Yes. We plan to offer glasses cases, cleaning cloths, and other optical accessories. Contact lenses can be purchased through Newton at the lowest cost possible.
